Important of Exercise Lesson at PSD Pearabag School in Mogbazar, Dhaka

The fourth lesson was held on 12th March at PSD School at Mogbazar in Dhaka. It was on exercise. I discussed different kind of exercises. Then they had been taught about different kind of pros and cons of the different kind of exercise. After that, then they were taught about the importance of physical exercise. For example, they have been told that physical exercise is important to build strong muscles and maintain healthy body. Exercising improves health, immune system, athletic skills, healthy weight, builds stronger bones, and reduces the risk of diabetes and heart disease. Meanwhile, they were asked to write the name of different types of exercises.  They were able to write some of them. After that, they had been explained about some other examples of exercises such as walking, jogging, running, biking, jumping rope etc.

Monthly Health Screening Program at PSD School, Dhaka

On the 16th of March, 2017, the monthly health screening and follow up took place in the Program for Sustainable Development School (PSD). The Health camp was scheduled by Mr. Sibnath Sarker and conducted by young esoteric Dr. Mitul from Bangladesh Medical College and Dr. Pooja from Dhaka Medical College. The doctors ran the screening program with confidence and affability.

Tour of PSD Pearabag School, Dhaka, on the 26th of February, 2017

On the 26th of February, 2017, I had the great opportunity to visit Agami’s PSD Pearabag School in Moghbazar, Dhaka. Having joined Agami’s Health for Education (HfE) Pilot team recently, I was really eager to meet the children, teachers and the Director of Program, Mr. Shibnath Sarker.

Life is Fun (LiF) Science Education : preparing for the Big Picture in 2017 and 2018

The second phase (Phase II) of Agami’s science education program, Life is Fun (LiF) has come to a successful completion in February 2017. Launched in July 2016, in Phase II all eight lesson modules have been developed, out of which 4 were tested and revised in Phase II.  About 350 students in grades 3-5 in 6 Agami schools, including 2 new, were reached through this initiative. Total budget for the first phase of the project in 2016 was $5000 sponsored by Mentor Graphics Foundation.

Agami’s Programs, Projects, and Initiatives and Rating from a Global Survey

Agami recently went through a month-long (Jan-Feb 2017) global survey inviting 64 global leaders from different operational units of Agami.  Out of the target 64 leaders, 36 of them participated in rating 16 ongoing Agami Program, Projects, and Initiatives (PPIs) in 10 different categories – relevancy, execute-ability, infrastructure challenge, impact measure-ability, funding priority, external funding probability, donor satisfaction, scalability, project management, and overall future.

Interview with Vice President Shahid Ahmed, Agami Inc.

​​​​​​​In the February 2017 issue of the Agami News, a newsletter of Agami, an exclusive interview with vice president Shahid Ahmed was published by Mahir Khan, the editor of the publication and associate director of Marketing. Shahid has spent much of his Agami time thus far working with Agami Northeast Chapter (ANEC), and is very excited to increase his role within the Agami ecosystem.

Fifth Health Camp at PSD Pearabag School

As a new physician, 15th February, 2016 was a memorable day for me.  I had the chance to perform a noble work for the marginalized children as a part of the Health for Education pilot project of Agami. It was a regular health checkup at PSD (Program for Sustainable Development) Pearabag School.  The program schedule was at 10.00 AM and my target patients were the children of Classes IV and V.
