You'll recall that after last year's BOD election, the elected Board members requested and drafted Abu Mahmudul Hassan to join the Board. Hassan agreed to do so for a one year term and that term and commitment is ending now. This has resulted in an open position in Agami Board of Directors (BOD). We shall have an election to fill the vacant position, As you may know already, Agami's Board of Directors comprises three elected members/ directors for a term of three years.
I, Imtiaz Chowdhury, have been appointed by the Agami Board to serve as Election Commissioner for this year. The Election Commissioner is responsible for managing and supervising elections, warranting compliance with Agami by laws and guidelines. I have both been closely involved with Agami for some time and pledge to conduct an unbiased and sound election on your behalf.
Please note that you must be a paid member of Agami Inc. to be able to run, nominate, second or vote. As per Agami's By-Law, to be eligible for Agami's Board of Director position one "(i) must be a voting Agami member and (ii) be actively involved with Agami Inc. or its Chapter either as a donor, volunteer or executive member for at least 2 years, or as an Advisory member for at least one year and (iii) be nominated by 2 voting Agami members." These 2 years can be non-consecutive two years in the past 10 years.

September 22, 2021 (11:59PM PST): Deadline for becoming an Agami member who is eligible to vote for this election.
September 25, 2021: I shall email all members with a list of eligible nominees and a link to an online nomination form.
October 1, 2021 (11:59PM PST): Nomination deadline
October 7, 2021: Last day for nomination withdrawal
October 8, 2021 to October 12, 2021: Election period
We hope to announce and welcome our new elected Director of the Board during Agami’s Annual general Meeting, tentatively scheduled to be held within 2 weeks of the completion of the election (be on the lookout for separate email notification from Agami Board regarding the date for the 2021 AGM)

I want to run for a board of director position. How do I go about it?
You must have an Agami member nominate you and another member second the nomination.
You must also satisfy the criteria below :
You are a paid and voting member
You have been actively involved with Agami for at least two years in the past 10 years.
I want to nominate someone to run for election. How do I do that ?
If you are an Agami member, you may nominate up to two people and second up to two people.
Please submit all nominations by filling out the online nomination form which will be sent out.
Someone nominated me and I do not want to run- what do I do ?
If your nomination has been seconded and you satisfy criteria of a nominee, we will reach out to you to confirm your nomination.
You will have the opportunity to turn down the nomination.
I had accepted my nomination but I have now changed my mind. How do I withdraw ?
You have till October 7th, 2021 11:59 pm PST to withdraw your nomination.
Please get in touch with the Election Commission and let them know your intent.
