Agami Inc. continues to grow- New Volunteers Alert

Agami Inc. has been fortunate and is growing as new volunteers take up important and leading positions in the Agami Inc. operational infrastructure.

Aug 21, 2021 - Farhana Hossain (Maloncho), Fremont, California joins as new Associate Director of Finance

Farhana will be working with Dr. Zahangir Kabir, Director of Finance (Davis, California), in keeping our accounting and finance data in a centralized database.

In Farhana’s words - "Education can change our life for the better. Agami is providing education to underprivileged children in Bangladesh. It is an incredibly humbling feeling to join Agami and be a part of the difference that Agami is making every day in our children’s life in Bangladesh.

I grew up in Bangladesh, went to Holy Cross School & College and North South University in Dhaka. Later, I completed Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from CSU East Bay, and now working at CH Reynold’s Electric Inc. as a Sr. Finance Manager in San Jose, CA. I'm proud to be the co-owner of Bongo's (Bangladeshi restaurant) along with my mother where I spend a lot of time overseeing operations and financial aspects. I love camping, biking, hiking, running with my husband (Shahid Iqbal), kids, and friends."

Aug 11, 2021 - Raahi Jamil, Michigan joins as a summer intern with the Finance-Accounting Team of Agami Inc. (USA).

Raahi joined Agami as a summer intern and wishes to continue the journey with Agami beyond the summer of 2021. In his own words:

"I am an incoming senior at the University of Michigan. I am a double major, studying the mathematics of finance & risk management, and economics. I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI but have been traveling all my life. My home away from home has to be in Dhaka, Bangladesh. With my graduation nearing, I wanted to get involved in something where I could put my skills to good use, and be able to make a difference in communities important to me. I’m grateful to be involved as a summer intern and look forward to seeing what the future has in store for Agami."

Aug 4, 2021 - Dr. Zahangir Kabir, a veteran Agamite from Davis, California will serve as the new Director of Finance, Agami Inc. Prior to Dr. Kabir, the previous Director of Finance Mr. Steven Perez, Grass Valley, California served in this role for the last few years. He is one of the seasoned Agamites since 2003, whne Agami was first founded.

In his own words, “I am living in Davis, California. After receiving a Ph.D. from McGill University, Montreal started a Postdoctoral Researcher at Pennsylvania State University. In 2000, I began to work for the University of California, Davis, as a Research Faculty. Now I am working for USDA as a research scientist covering California, Nevada, Hawaii, and Pacific Island Areas. In addition, I am also affiliated with UC Davis. I have been working for Agami since 2004. I was the coordinator for the first Agami school project called Comilla Project.”

Jan 22, 2021 - Tahsina Mustafa, joins as a volunteer to serve Agami News.

In her own words, "My name is Tahsina Tarannum Mustafa. I am originally from Bangladesh, but I moved to the U.S. in July 2019. I am currently a sophomore majoring in Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I have been exposed to Agami and the organization’s activities for a while now, and as a person who has always enjoyed volunteering, I decided to use my free time in helping out with the organization’s newsletter (a.k.a. Agami News) team as a proofreader.

I am interested in Agami not only because of its amazing efforts to help the underprivileged children and their families in Bangladesh but also because I see a clear vision. With time, I think Agami can make great strides, and when that happens, I would love to be a part of it!"
