Dear Agami Friends,
2020 was fruitful despite challenges and the pandemic. Agami continued to work hard and thrive together. Our 2020 virtual campaign "Together We Give, Together We Live" also resonated unity, bridged efforts across communities, appreciated each other and continued to work for the greater good. But all these would not have possible without you in the Agami family. To each and everyone of you, thank you for your phenomenal work across Agami initiatives. Over the last year, we also wanted to do more than just say "thank you", and finally we have planned an appreciation program on Feb 14th, 2021, on Sunday, at 10PM BD Time, 11AM EST and 8AM PST, which will be streamed on AGAMI FACEBOOK.
This year, the marketing department recognized 3 initiatives that not only met their goals but set an example and aligned to our campaign message:
a) Library Project - The project started in September 2019, when a few volunteers envisioned establishing a library system in Agami-supporting schools. The volunteers were able to collect a donation of 750 books by the end of 2020. We loved the vision behind this project - unique and simple - developing a channel to imagine, tell stories and be creative. What amazed us was how the team bridged across communities to set up a library for the underprivileged. We would love to acknowledge their teamwork and sheer determination towards Library Project initiative
b) COVID Relief Campaign - Agami's sudden undertaking due to the pandemic and lockdown in Bangladesh. Agami employees and volunteers worked diligently to provision meals during the lockdown. 3000 students and their families received the relief packet. Starting from fundraising challenges during a crisis, to arranging and packing the relief packets, to careful planning and distribution, this was done very well. Everyone included in this campaign are our version of COVID Heroes who have chosen to work for the greater good. Please welcome our Agami COVID Heroes.
c) Year-end Fundraising Campaign - Lastly, we wanted to thank the year-end fundraising volunteers. This year, despite economic lows, our donors helped us reach the initial target of $50,000. We reached $65,00 this year! This was possible because a huge team spent a lot of time calling to each and every donor, following up with potential donors and driving the fundraising activity. It was different from previous years, because we were also able to organize a virtual event and open up our Agami E-Bay store - Agami Inc. We had two generous vendors who donated a portion of their sales to Agami. Almost 30 volunteers worked together to make this year-end fundraising a success.
